One with nature

Acting sustainably lays the groundwork for our future.
Sustainability is not an option for us; it is part of our identity. After all, treating nature with care has always been an integral part of hunting. Hunters know their territories like no one else. They are out in all kinds of weather, observing attentively and taking responsibility for the forest and wildlife. Perhaps this is why hunters talk less about sustainability than other nature enthusiasts – they live it out of conviction.

Based on this set of values, we have developed our purpose: “One with nature.” It guides us in our day-to-day actions as well as in strategic decisions. As a guiding principle, it aligns our actions toward a common goal: the connection between responsibility and economic success.

We focus on three areas:

Environmental responsibility.
Social responsibility toward employees and society.
Corporate governance and compliance.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Climate
Our goal is to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions over the long term and, wherever possible, eliminate them entirely. To understand the impact of our business activities and manage them effectively, we have been conducting a carbon footprint assessment since 2020. This assessment identifies areas where we can take action and makes our climate protection efforts measurable and transparent.

We have deliberately chosen not to offset emissions through carbon credits. All too often, this creates the impression of greenwashing whether justified or not. As a company with a deep connection to nature, we want to take a different, more effective path: We support projects that we can directly influence and that are close to our hearts. These include, among others, the extensive and long-term rhino conservation program in Namibia. The budget for this is many times the cost of carbon credits.

At the same time, we have a clear goal: By 2045, we want to operate in a climate-neutral manner. We intend to achieve this goal through genuine action. We are pursuing this path through sustainable investments, the optimization of our production processes, the use of certified raw materials, and research into alternative raw materials. Step by step. Because responsibility begins where you take it upon yourself. And that is exactly what we are doing.

Biodiversity and Conservation
Together with our customers, we make a valuable contribution to the preservation of biological diversity. Hunters are active conservationists and support the goals of the European Biodiversity Strategy 2030. In addition to excessive resource use, environmental pollution, and climate change, the strategy identifies invasive, non-native species as the main drivers of biodiversity loss. European hunters are already taking action today, particularly against invasive species such as raccoons and gray squirrels, thereby protecting native species. At the same time, hunters help other nature users better understand the needs of our ecosystem, such as the importance of quiet zones for wildlife.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Making a difference together. Thanks to our employees, we are internationally successful and deeply rooted in the region. Their daily performance and the conviction of working towards common goals is the base for achieving those together. We support this commitment through numerous initiatives, such as development and training opportunities, a positive work-life balance, and a comprehensive workplace health management program, #BlaserCare. We value and nurture our connection to the region. Whether through training our own young talent in eleven different professions or through our involvement with the Isny Community Foundation. However, our responsibility does not end at the factory gate or within the region. This is also made clear in our policy statement, in which we explicitly state that we expect occupational safety, health protection, and fair wages from our partners and suppliers as well.

RESPONSIBLE GOVERNANCE

RESPONSIBLE GOVERNANCE

Business conduct and social responsibility are just as deeply rooted in Blaser’s philosophy as hunting and conservation: Only by acting responsibly can we make a long-term contribution to preserving our environment for future generations. Personal integrity and compliance with all applicable laws are of the utmost importance at Blaser. This applies to all actions taken by the management, executives, and all employees. To identify potential violations early on and ensure transparency, a whistleblower system is available to all employees, partners, and stakeholders. Reports can be submitted there confidentially and anonymously.
