R8 100.000
An epic masterpiece drawing inspiration from "The Argali"
In 2015, the 100.000th bolt action rifle R8 was manufactured. We have taken this as a reason to create a very special gem: The R8 100.000 perfectly embodies the extremely skillful symbiosis of masterly craftsmanship and artistic refinement. Heart of this creation forms the King of Wild Sheep and the dream of every passionate hunter: The heraldic animal of Blaser – the Argali.
The Blaser Custom Shop team was meticulous in all elements of design and manufacture. Executed as first of its kind an octagonal barrel was fluted then highly polished. Since no open sights existed for this project both front and rear were machined from a solid billet to blend harmoniously with the silhouette of the rifle. Both receiver and bolt housing were shaped and polished by hand. Highest order curl wood was then selected for R8 serial number 100,000. Skeletonized octagonal pistol grip cap and steel butt plate, inlayed with ebony, were then added to complete the frame for this exceptional work of art and epitomizes the bespoke nature of the Blaser Custom Shop.
For the artistic completion, two internationally recognized artists were selected, each working in their unique mediums. Painter Rudi Kohl has drafted, in his signature style, a painstaking depiction of the King of Wild Sheep in their natural habitat. Engraver Jürgen Göser was then responsible for implementation of the drafts. The master engraver went about his task in his usual manner, meticulously and with absolute attention to detail. No greater honor can be paid to this noble animal and symbol of excellence for the Blaser brand.
