Mauritius is not only a paradise for beach lovers but also a hidden gem for passionate hunters. On a 4,000 ha hunting area in the south of the island, the main focus is on rusa deer – with trophies exceeding 36 inches.
The hunting season runs from July to mid-November, with the rut from mid-July to late August being a special highlight. In addition to rusa deer, wild boar, spike stag, hind and game birds such as pheasant, guinea fowl and dove can be hunted.
Hunting is guided (1:1) and moderately demanding. The hilly terrain and subtropical climate make it a unique experience.
Accommodation is in luxurious resorts or a hunting lodge – ideal for accompanying guests. The combination of hunting, relaxation and exotic flair makes Mauritius a truly unique destination.
