Hunt & Hunter
Two Brothers one Passion
The small town of Los Yébenes, south of Toledo, is considered the center of taxidermy in Spain and far beyond. Today, one workshop in particular stands out: Garoz & Garoz. This third-generation family business, run by the brothers Juanjo and Ramon Garoz is known by hunters around the world for its artistic skills and refinement.
“Taxidermy immortalizes the unique moment. It attests to the respect for game and is intended to remind the observer how important it is to preserve nature and biodiversity.”
Like their grandfather and father, they are both passionate outdoorsmen who have hunted in numerous countries around the world. This experience has not only raised their awareness of sustainable hunting, but also their respect for wild animals. Juanjo and Ramon's motivation for hunting is the experience of unspoiled nature, the pleasure of unforgettable sights and, of course, the passion to bag mature trophies. They do this with great care and intuition and always with the proviso that they never endanger game populations.
For both brothers, immortalizing hunted game in the form of first-class taxidermy means both respecting the animal and preserving special memories. In their own hunting museum, which is known throughout Spain and far beyond, countless taxidermy specimens from all over the world are on display that are hard to find anywhere else in terms of artistic design and variety. In this extensive museum, which is visited not only by hunters but also by others interested in nature, one can immediately sense the amount of care and attention to detail that has gone into its design. Juanjo and Ramon Garoz's hunting philosophy is also reflected in their choice of equipment. In Ramon's case, it is often the camera with which he is able to capture exciting scenarios in the great outdoors. Juanjo, on the other hand, wouldn't want to do without his K95 rifle. His absolute ambition is to always achieve hunting success with a single, precise shot.
“My philosophy is to hit the target with a single shot. The K95 makes this really easy for me.”
